HOMEOWNERS with Japanese knotweed on their property who are looking to sell their homes in the future are being urged to “professionally excavate” the invasive weed rather than seek herbicide treatment. It comes as a new survey carried out by YouGov for Environet UK revealed that buyers would be uncomfortable purchasing a home that had only been treated for knotweed using a herbicide. According to an expert, removing the plant all together by digging it out “will make the property easier to sell”.
