More than a third of devoted dog owners felt a sense of regret and doubt after getting a new puppy – with a quarter even suggesting a newborn child would be less demanding. A poll of 2,000 dog owners, who got one of their pets as a puppy, found 47 percent believed their life changed more than they had expected.
