Israel says it has deported 171 activists – including Greta Thunberg. They were detained last week in international waters while taking part in a flotilla bound for Gaza.
The Swedish activist and the other deportees were greeted by hundreds of jubilant supporters on their arrival in Athens. Israel says 138 activists remain in custody. The organizers of the 45-ship flotilla say they were aiming to break an Israeli maritime blockade to deliver aid to Gaza.
And Thunberg returned from captivity with a typically strident message for Israel.
