18-month-old among dead in Israeli strikes on Gaza

With Tuesday’s election looming, the Biden administration has been expending its last drops of diplomatic energy trying to broker peace between Israel and its foes – both Hamas in Gaza, and Hezbollah in Lebanon.

But those efforts aren’t looking hopeful.

American envoys left Jerusalem yesterday without a breakthrough, while Israel has continued to strike Beirut and northern and central Gaza, where scores have been killed over the past 24 hours.
