The Israeli prison service has confirmed that all Palestinian prisoners have been released.
There were scenes of celebration in Ramallah in the West Bank, where many of the Palestinian prisoners were returned to their families.
In all, 200 were freed, including more than 120 serving life sentences. Others had been held without charge.
