New figures show more than 41 thousand migrants arrived in the UK last year after crossing the English Channel.
That’s an increase of 13% on the figure for 2024 – though its 9% below the all time high reported in 2022. It’s believed at least 17 people died while attempting the crossing, though there’s no official record of fatalities.
