The first free school breakfast clubs will be opening across the country as part of the government’s plan for change.
Thousands of parents will also be able to access 30 minutes of free morning childcare as part of a trial ahead of an expected national rollout.
However, school leaders are warning the pilot may lead to budget shortfalls and the education sector will continue to struggle without more funding.
