As Halloween approaches, there are warnings over the safety of children’s costumes purchased from online marketplaces.
Purchased from third-party sellers on online marketplaces like Amazon, eBay, Shein and TikTok shop, 10 out of the 11 costumes tested by the Chartered Trading Standards Institute (CTSI) failed to meet UK safety requirements.
The CTSI recommends that parents should always buy costumes from reputable sellers, and if you do buy from an online marketplace, buy from a UK-based seller. Parents can also check the package for a UKCA or CE mark, and safety warnings. #halloween #halloweencostume #costume #safety #safety first
