Residents of the Hawaiian island of Maui made desperate escapes from oncoming flames, some on foot, as wildfires raced toward their homes on Tuesday. Ella Tacderan, whose family home was in Lahaina, a town in the west of the island that was almost entirely wiped out, describes her experience of the devastation.
