The United Nations has warned that the casualty rate from last Sunday’s earthquake in Afghanistan is likely to rise sharply as rescuers struggle to reach people in time to save them.

At least 1,400 people are already known to have died, according to the Taliban government.
The UK has pledged a one million pound donation to aid agencies as part of the relief effort.
However, many health facilities in the affected area are closed or suspended, that’s due to the withdrawal of international funding following the Taliban takeover four years ago.
