Israel’s Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu said the Israel Defense Forces had no intention of occupying the Gaza Strip after its war against Hamas.
"We don’t seek to conquer Gaza, we don’t seek to occupy Gaza, and we don’t seek to govern Gaza," Netanyahu told Fox News on Thursday.
However, he said a "credible force" would be needed to enter the Palestinian territory, if necessary, to prevent the emergence of militant threats.
