Alabama Republican Senator Tommy Tuberville is calling for accountability in the wake of the chaotic Afghanistan withdrawal. On the 22nd anniversary of the September 11 terrorist attacks, Senator Tuberville expressed his belief that military leadership should be held responsible for failing to defeat the Taliban. He also emphasized the importance of the Senate voting on General Charles Brown’s nomination to replace outgoing Joint Chiefs of Staff Chair Mark Milley, who is set to retire on September 30. Tuberville asserts that any delay in the nomination process falls on the shoulders of the Democratic majority running the Senate floor.
