Iran also claimed to have launched another drone strike against Israel on Wednesday, but did not give any details of what it was targeting.
Speaking on Tuesday, Trump initially dismissed any notion of the US getting involved with the conflict when pressed by reporters.
But he went on to say: "I may do it, I may not do it. Nobody knows what I want to do. But I can say this: Iran’s got a lot of trouble and wants to negotiate."
