He was said to be the late Queen Elizabeth’s favourite son, but after what is arguably the biggest royal scandal since the abdication crisis of 1936, the former prince will now be known as Andrew Mountbatten Windsor.
The disgraced royal, whose friendship with convicted paedophile financier Jeffrey Epstein led to his downfall, has also agreed to move out of his Windsor home.
He has strenuously denied the allegations made by Virginia Giuffre concerning him and Epstein, but a once-celebrated war hero, Mountbatten Windsor, is now an ex-prince, with his public life as a royal effectively ended by the King.
