Andy Burnham said he is “concerned” about the impact of the Labour Party’s decision to block him from standing in the Gorton and Denton by-election.
The decision was made by a 10-strong sub-group of the National Executive Committee (NEC), chaired by the Home Secretary Shabana Mahmood on Sunday morning.
A win at the by-election would have set up a return to Westminster for the Greater Manchester mayor.
