Antoine Semenyo has called for tougher punishments to deal with racism in football, after accusing a man in the crowd of abusing him during Bournemouth’s match against Liverpool last Friday.
In his first interview since the incident, Semenyo told ITV News: "Whatever the Premier League are doing, it’s not enough and there’s more that need to be done."
Asked by ITV News Sports Editor Steve Scott what the maximum punishment should be when such incidents happen, he said: "It could be jail time, it could be banned from stadiums for a lifetime, it could be anything along the lines of that, but I feel like there has to be something else."
