Argentina’s football association has been fined £235,000.

The fine is for displaying a banner which read ‘Las Malvinas son Argentinas’, translating to ‘The Falkland Islands are Argentinian’, after their semi-final clash against England. It goes against Fifa’s ruling, banning political protests at its matches. Four of its players and one of its coaches have also received match suspensions and fines for their involvement in a fight after the final whistle at the World Cup final against Spain.
