Around a million young people in UK are on benefits

The government is planning to restrict people’s access to benefits in a bid to get more people working.

Work and Pensions Secretary Liz Kendall is expected to set out plans for reform on Tuesday in an effort to cut the cost of a benefits bill described by ministers as “unsustainable”.
