ASEAN conference plans Christmas Eve meeting on Thai-Cambodian border dispute | DW News

Thailand and Cambodia will resume peace talks later this week in hopes of resolving their border conflict. Fighting reignited earlier this month, killing dozens of people on both sides.

The Christmas Eve meeting was planned at the ASEAN conference of South East Asian countries in Malaysia on Monday. Thailand’s Foreign Minister said the ceasefire that was signed by Bangkok and Phnom Penh earlier this year was rushed to align with President Trump’s visit to the region – and said it lacked sufficient detail.
