Astronomer launches investigation following viral Coldplay kiss cam video incident

A US tech company has placed its boss on leave and is investigating after a video appearing to show two senior staff members embracing at a Coldplay concert went viral.

In the clip, the pair are shown on a screen with their arms around each other during the band’s concert in Boston.

The woman hides her face in horror when she is picked out by the camera, while the man ducks out of view.

Astronomer said it had placed its chief executive Andy Byron on leave, but stopped short of confirming it is him in the video. It also said a statement on Friday purporting to come from Mr Byron was fake.
