At least 12 dead and 66 injured in Israeli airstrike on Lebanese capital

An Israeli airstrike has flattened a building in Beirut’s southern suburbs killing at least 12 people and wounding 66.

The target of the strike, Hezbollah’s operations commander, Ibrahim Aqil is reported to be among the dead.

The attack came shortly after Hezbollah fired 140 rockets at northern Israel.

The death toll has risen since time of recording.
