Dozens of scientists from 15 countries have warned that climate change is putting one of the earth’s most important ocean currents in danger of collapse.
In an open letter earlier this month – they said that the ocean system known as AMOC helps to regulate the temperature of the entire planet – and if it collapses – it could bring extreme cold of "unprecedented intensity" to northern and western Europe.
