A 37-year-old man has been found guilty of manslaughter caused by gross negligence after his girlfriend froze to death as the couple attempted to climb the Großglockner in Austria.
The pair ran into difficulties while trying to reach the summit and he said he left her to get help.
Judge Norbert Hofer said the man had misjudged the situation and should have called emergency services earlier or they should turned back sooner.
