Avalanche warnings in Japan

Avalanche warnings have been issued across parts of Japan after heavy snowfall blanketed several regions. One town – Tsunan – saw over 3.5 metres of snow.

Officials have warned of blackouts and traffic disruptions, with more snow forecast over the weekend.
