Police say there does not appear to be any survivors from a London-bound Air India passenger plane that crashed minutes after taking off from the northwestern Indian city of Ahmedabad.
The city’s police commissioner said there are also likely to be casualties in the area where the Boeing 787 Dreamliner went down.
The flight AI 171, which was headed to London Gatwick, crashed with 242 people on board – 230 passengers and 12 crew – five minutes after taking off at 1.38pm local time, the airline said.
