Badenoch vows to reinstate two-child benefit cap if Labour scraps it

Kemi Badenoch has told a news conference that the Chancellor is about to scrap the two-child benefit cap, which will increase spending by £3.5bn and result in "more taxes to pay for more welfare spending".

"If this Labour government scraps the two-child benefit cap, I want people to know that a future Conservative government will bring it back," she declares.

The Conservative party leader called on the government to use their plan to make £47bn of savings, including slashing £23bn from the welfare bill.
