Five years after the Taliban seized back power in Afghanistan, Sky News’ special correspondent Alex Crawford returns to the country to see the impact.
She finds a country in crisis, with millions of people living in abject poverty, and hospitals unable to cope with the rising number of sick and starving children.
As she travels around Afghanistan, she meets old friends and hears devastating testimony from women who have been subject to horrendous abuses by the Taliban’s strict rules on what they can and can’t do.
But she also finds moments of hope in unlikely places, with many people willing to fight back against the edicts imposed on girls.
