Bank of England holds interest rate at 3.75% in knife-edge decision

The Bank of England has held the interest rate at 3.75% but signalled that further cuts are now "likely" later in the year as inflation falls back to the Bank’s 2% target faster than expected.

Five members of the Monetary Policy Committee voted for a hold, while four wanted to cut it by 0.25 percentage points to 3.5%.

Sky’s Paul Kelso says the deciding vote went to Bank of England Governor Andrew Bailey.
