Bank of England holds interest rate at 4.75% after November inflation rise

The Bank of England has held its base rate at 4.75% – as many analysts had predicted.

The Bank’s Monetary Policy Committee voted to keep the rate the same by a majority of 6-3.

Deputy governor Dave Ramsden, alongside Swati Dhingra and Alan Taylor, were outvoted in calling for a cut to 4.5%.
