Education minister Baroness Smith has defended the prime minister over his appointment of Peter Mandelson as the UK ambassador to the US.
Lord Mandelson was arrested on Monday by the Metropolitan Police on suspicion of misconduct in pubic office.
Baroness Smith says Sir Keir Starmer acted quickly when Mandelson’s links to Jeffrey Epstein became clear.
