A worrying number of people with learning disabilities are missing out on an early cancer diagnosis which could have saved their lives. The NHS Confederation said today that healthcare providers should ensure regular checks take place to prevent more early deaths.
They were responding to the latest annual Leader report into avoidable deaths among learning disabled people – which shows that cancer rates are on the rise.
