ITV News Science Correspondent Martin Stew was the only journalist on board the British research ship the RRS Sir David Attenborough, as it takes part in an expedition deep within the Antarctic Circle.
Along side cameraman Mike Field, they have filmed the work of a team of scientists researching deep within the Antarctic Circle.
