Chancellor Rachel Reeves has pledged to strengthen Britain’s economic stability and dismissed the idea she will "just abandon economic responsibility and cast off any constraints on spending".
Her keynote address was well-received by Labour party members in Liverpool, but Sky’s political editor Beth Rigby says three things stood out to her in "a speech that was actually really light on policy, but quite heavy on politics."
