Biden grants clemency to 1,500 people

US President Joe Biden has commuted the sentences of nearly 1,500 people and pardoned dozens of others, in the largest single-day act of clemency in American history.

The White House says most had been on home confinement for at least a year, and those pardoned were convicted of non-violent crimes.
