The Loch Ness monster has long captured people’s imagination. This weekend, hundreds of aspiring monster hunters have gathered in the Scottish Highlands to search for the elusive sea beast, affectionately known as Nessie. They are aided by modern surveillence technology, including drones. The modern legend of Nessie began about 90 years ago. This 1934 picture of Nessie was later debunked as a hoax. But it has since inspired numerous books, TV shows and films.
