A blast that hit a building in a residential area in Damascus, Syria, has killed two people, Syria’s state TV has said.
The building was hit by an Israeli strike, according to reports, damaging the fourth floor of a 10-storey building, shattering window glass in nearby buildings and damaging dozens of cars parked in the area.
Reuters reports witnesses heard several back-to-back explosions, and that the blasts scared children at a nearby school and ambulances rushed to the area.
The neighbourhood consists of residential buildings, schools and Iranian cultural centres and lies near a large, heavily guarded complex used by security agencies. There was no immediate comment from the Israeli military.
