Boris Johnson 'of course sorry' for Downing Street parties

Former prime minister Boris Johnson has told Sky News he "totally rejects" suggestions he mocked the public over their strict adherence to COVID-19 lockdown rules.

Writing in his new memoir Unleashed, he said the public "craved" restrictions, with some treating the laws as a "kind of religion" as they sought "salvation".

Mr Johnson’s book looks back at his time as prime minister and, among other things, discusses Brexit, the COVID pandemic and subsequent partygate controversy.
