The British consulate in Jerusalem has shut with more than 20 diplomats forced to leave Israel.
Israel’s Foreign Minister confirmed that they had authorised the British Government continue to operate from the embassy building – but only within a limited scope of activity.
In a statement, he said the consulate "ceased its functions" with the consul-general and at least 20 diplomats leaving the country.
He added: "We did not want to reach this point, but the Labour Government’s actions brought us here."
Seven diplomats have been allowed to stay, Gideon Sa’ar further confirmed.
