A man has been left ‘baffled’ after a council dumped his dead brother’s belongings in a skip before he could collect them.
Simon Byrne had arranged a time to visit his brother Chris’ flat, but when he arrived he noticed only a suitcase was left.
Speaking to Ben Leo on GB News, Simon admitted he saw a skip outside and decided to climb in.
In a statement, Brighton & Hove City Council said: "During the process of cleaning the property and making it suitable for the next of kin to visit, some items were unfortunately disposed of by our cleaning contractor.
"We do understand how important someone’s belongings are to their friends and family and apologise for any additional distress and upset this caused in relation to this very sad loss."
