Campaigners 'angry and disappointed' as assisted dying bill set to fail

The campaign group ‘Dignity in Dying’ is staging a demonstration in Westminster – two days before the final debate for the assisted dying bill is scheduled in the House of Lords.

Broadcaster Prue Leith says, "what’s happened is a handful of Lords produced over a thousand amendments – which is more amendments than any bill has ever had in Parliament – just to ensure the bill runs out of time".
