Can a group of teenagers survive two weeks without their mobile phones? | ITV News

A group of teenagers in Jersey have given up their phones for two weeks, as part of an experiment run by their school in partnership with ITV News.

After their parents consented to the investigation, a group of eleven girls in year nine at Beaulieu School handed over their devices.

A number of the teenagers admitted that they were ‘addicted’ to their phones, and most spent hours every day looking at their screens.

All the students who took part – who were all aged 13 or 14 – also said that they’d seen harmful content online.

There is widespread concern about the impact of mobile phone use on young people, and a growing number of parents are choosing not to allow their children access to a smartphone.
