Can North Korea become a holiday hotspot for Russian travellers?

It’s probably not at the top of your bucket list as a must-see destination.

But North Korea is touting itself as the country of choice for the discerning traveller.

That is especially true in Russia, where a Russians-only coastal resort was recently opened by the country’s leader Kim Jong Un.

It’s part of a forging of closer links between the two countries, which began when Pyongyang sent thousands of troops to fight with Russia in Ukraine.

North Korea is reportedly preparing to send thousands more soldiers to join Putin’s war.

Ivor Bennett spoke to Russian tourists who have just returned from the newly-opened resort.
