Canada parliament speaker resigns after welcoming Nazi into Commons and calling him ‘hero’

The speaker of the Canadian House of Commons, Anthony Rota, has resigned just days after welcoming a Ukrainian Nazi veteran into the chamber and calling him a hero. Apologising for his decision Rota said: ‘I particularly want to extend my deepest apologies to Jewish communities in Canada and around the world. I accept full responsibility for my action’
