Car finance compensation latest

The Financial Conduct Authority is to consult on an industry wide compensation scheme for customers who believe they were mis-sold car finance.

The announcement follows a Supreme Court ruling that in certain circumstances the failure to properly disclose commission payments could be unfair and unlawful.

The FCA said it expects the scheme would cost between £9 to 18 billion.
