‘Catfish’ abuser sentenced to life in prison

A ‘catfish’ abuser who drove a 12-year-old girl to suicide has been sentenced to life.

Alexander McCartney from Northern Ireland pleaded guilty to manslaughter after a girl from the US, who he was abusing, died by suicide.
The 26-year-old has also been charged for sexually abusing children online. Police believe he targeted 3,500 children across 30 countries.
