Ceasefire deal in Gaza before Ramadan ‘looking tough’, Biden says

Egypt says it is in touch with senior Hamas and Israeli representatives in an attempt to restart negotiations for a ceasefire in Gaza during the holy month of Ramadan, which starts this week.

All the while a fresh wave of airdrops of humanitarian aid, unable to cross by road, have landed in northern Gaza where there are fears of a looming famine.
