The Chancellor has told broadcasters that the Prime Minister "is focused on the change the country voted for" after being questioned over speculation that Andy Burnham could challenge Sir Keir Starmer for the party leadership.
Mr Burnham has claimed Labour MPs are privately urging him to challenge Sir Keir Starmer.
Labour peer Thangam Debbonaire has told him to "stop sticking his oar in".
