Chancellor confirms winter fuel payments to be reinstated this year | ITV News

The Chancellor Rachel Reeves has confirmed the government’s U-turn over the winter fuel payment, saying more pensioners would get financial help.

The unexpected announcement followed her revealing a plan to boost train, tram and bus networks outside of London with a £15bn package for areas she said has stagnated after years of "under investment".
