Good news for commuters in Scotland. From today, peak rail fares have been scrapped across Scotland’s rail network.
The Scottish government says the £40m move is to encourage people to switch from cars to trains. Commuters will pay less to travel in the mornings or evenings, with the price of a return ticket between Glasgow and Edinburgh at peak times dropping from £32.60 to £16.80.
