Chief rabbi condemns airing of ‘Jew hatred’

The UK’s chief rabbi has condemned what he called ‘the airing of vile Jew hatred’ after chants calling for the death of the Israeli Defence Forces at the Glastonbury music festival were broadcast live by the BBC.

The rap duo Bob Vylan are now being investigated by Avon and Somerset police – while the BBC has apologised for not halting coverage of the ‘unacceptable’ set. Police said there was ‘absolutely no place in society for hate’.
